Questions people often ask

Is it paid?
Many TechStart opportunities are paid. Some placements are part of a course. Every listing shows the actual pay and its basis, so check the opportunity you are interested in.
Do I need experience?
No. Most routes are designed for people starting out. Interest and willingness to learn matter more than a CV.
Where is it based?
Our base is Venture X White City, London W12 7SL. Some work may happen at employer sites; the listing will say.
What will I do?
Real work for real organisations, such as websites, data, digital marketing or operations projects, with support and coaching throughout.
Can someone help me apply?
Yes. A parent, carer, teacher or support worker can help you fill in the form, or you can ask us for a conversation first.
What happens after I contact you?
You get a reference number straight away. A member of the team will review your details and get in touch to talk about suitable options. Registering interest does not reserve a place.
Can my school or support worker refer me?
Yes. They can use our referral form, as long as you know about the referral and agree to your details being shared.

For parents and carers

You are welcome to help a young person explore options, fill in a form or come to a conversation with them. We will always talk to the young person directly about what they want.

Accessibility and support

If you would find it easier to talk, need information in a different format, or want adjustments, just ask. You do not need to share a diagnosis or your personal history to request support.

Help from someone you know

A teacher, careers adviser, work coach or support worker can refer you, as long as you know about it and agree.
