It’s no secret that the first rung of the tech job ladder is often a daunting one.

Despite the existence of numerous well-intentioned support programs, many young people still face a significant barrier: the job itself.

Finding it, and once found, keeping it.

Techstart, a not-for-profit with a social mission has the heart of a charity and the mindset of a business.

At TechStart, we believe in creating opportunities that truly matter. Our programme is designed to unlock potential, equip young people with critical skills, and provide real-world experience to build a brighter, sustainable future for themselves and their communities.

What Makes TechStart Different?

Learn by Doing: We go beyond traditional education. TechStart participants work 35 hours a week, earning the London Living Wage while gaining hands-on experience in some of the UK’s most dynamic industries.

Skills That Stick: From mastering software engineering to learning essential life skills like saving for a first home, TechStart equips participants with tools to succeed for life, not just the next step.

Community Impact: Through partnerships with Universities, and businesses across the UK, we deliver a programme that’s as impactful for participants as it is for employers.

We aim to show that alternative pathways to employment beyond conventional methods are both viable and effective. By offering tailored job opportunities and comprehensive training, we empower young people to confidently start their tech careers, ensuring equal opportunities for success in the digital world.
